About Me

Hello! My name is Camille, living in the post-bariatric world in Massachusetts (on the Rhode Island line). I am new to the Bariatric world, having just had my surgery in June, 2020. So far, I’m embracing the life, and excited about all of the experiences and recipes I can make for myself.

I have struggled with my weight since I was about 18 and went off to college. That started the roller coaster that has been going on for the last 18 years. I’ve always been an active person. I love to swim and bike ride. When I was in college, I even rowed with the crew team and I played rubgy. But as my weight has steadily gone up over the years, I haven’t been nearly as active. I’ve done a lot of fad dieting, with only a little exercise thrown in. As I’ve gained more weight, I’ve become more sedentary – mostly through embarrassment. I never wanted to go to the pool and have people see me in a bathing suit. I didn’t want to ride my bike and have people judge me for being too big for it. I started making excuses for myself at every turn. And even though I pay for a subscription to an at-home workout site, I found myself starting it for a week, and then falling back off the wagon. I never committed to anything other than sitting on the couch.

Now at 36, I’ve made the best decision for me so that I can continue to have a healthy, happy life. Married with two young children, both my husband and I work full time. I do 98% of the cooking at home, so I’m often looking for quick dishes to make. It is easy to fall back on the simple recipes that aren’t necessarily healthy. But now that I’ve had the surgery, unhealthy is not really an option for me!

I’m excited to share my experiences of going through the post-surgery process, and some recipes, too!

I’m not an expert. I’m not a doctor. I’m not a nutritionist. Everything on my blog is my personal experience and opinion. But I hope you enjoy it!
